Race UPDATE!

We're getting oh so close to the big race day.  We've got some good schwag lined up and the venue is going to be great.  Brian Gant and the Cross The Way crew are going to be holding their race Sunday, so come out and race both days.  Both days are TBRA points races, so why not?  This is probably going to be the easiest parking and registration you'll get this season (if it's NOT, let us know and we'll do better next year!!!).

One very important note to race participants:  The fine folks at Fontanel have been very generous in letting us use their property, and they are going to provide beer and food (burgers, dogs, etc) sales on site.  So please, please try to refrain from bringing your own beverages and bring a few extra bucks to buy food on site.  That would be a great show of thanks to these guys for letting us use their venue.

Parking: you will want to enter the venue on the North side of the complex.  There is a tree-lined allee (that's your word of the day!) and a narrow entrance drive.  Enter at the Farmhouse Restaurant and follow the signs back to the parking area.  You will drive around and behind the Farmhouse Restaurant and follow the gravel road.  DO NOT CROSS THE BRIDGE OVER THE CREEK.  Parking will be on the road side of the creek ONLY.  Please do not park at the Farmhouse Restaurant.

We just picked up the prizes from Worm's Way.  They have been very generous in giving us a whole bunch of cool stuff to make your garden grow.  If you don't have a garden, now is a good time to start planning it, because everybody is getting something!

That's it for now.   One more post in a day or two, then we're racing.  See you there!

Course layout is 99% there!

We've done some good thinking on the course and ridden it a couple of times.  It's going to be a reasonably long, paved, slightly uphill start, with a sweeping turn into the grass.  The course is relatively smooth, and there should be a little bit of mud, two sets of regulation height barriers (one double on flat ground, one triple and uphill?), a little off-camber stuff, and a boatload of sharp corners.  It will be a good mix of high speed, low speed, cornering skills, and mud skills, with a lot of opportunity to sprint from corner to corner if your legs are so inclined.  The course will be regulation width except in two small spots where the course tightens up just a little bit.  Course length should be right around 1.7miles/2.8k.

We're going to have coffee from Dose, and we've got some good prizes rolling in.  Most importantly, we're sharing the points weekend with Cross the Way, so come on out BOTH DAYS and grab a pantload of cyclocross action!

See you there!

Cyclocross season is fast approaching!!!

So, 'cross is coming up on us quickly.  With the road season quickly coming to a close, the sun setting earlier, and temperatures dropping (at least overnight temperatures dropping...) we are pleased to announce our first annual cyclocross race, sponsored by Worm's Way and held at Fontanel Mansion in Nashville, Tennessee.  Tentative date will be Saturday, October 22, 2011 and TBRA points will be awarded.  We hope you'll join us!

More race information will be posted here when we get a little better organized...

Team sponsors this year are Worm's Way, OS, Gatorade, ARC Reprographics, Latocki Team Creative, King Market, PTS Powdercoating, and Real Design Wheels.  We've raced a good bit on the road this year, and had some pretty good results, but we're really looking forward to 'cross season.  Ding, ding, ding!!!...
